Activities

side_bannerIt’s difficult to describe some of the activities our cadets participate in as sport, training or as regular ‘activities’, our squadron like all others has other events too!

Our Civilian Committee will organise fund raising events, bag packs at local supermarkets, we once did a sponsored “Pull a hawk” (cadets managed to pull by hand an RAF Red Arrow plane round an airfield to raise funds).

We’ll be invited to parades round the town by organisations or asked that our cadets help with events by acting as stewards, collecting money or just being present to help, it’s always good to feel part of the community.

Cadets enjoy these and in Spalding the Tulip Parade is always fun!

Then there are the parades for Remembrance, Armed Forces Day, where our cadets can help fund raise, steward or just been seen to support veterans by also being in uniform; many cadets agree its a proud time for them.

It’s not all about showing the squadron off, although we do think we have the best cadets in the wing. We really enjoy the occasional fun event too, trips to air museums, flying collections, ice skating, go-karting, BBQ’s or our own version of “Its a Knockout” competition!
